Vintage perfection defined, '71 Fender Rhodes Stage Piano

This 1971 Rhodes arrived at our shop about 4 weeks ago for restoration. To our surprise the owner of this piano is a very talented 12 year old student and he's into vintage keys! Keefer bought this Rhodes from Guitar Center and it was in great shape cosmetically but the sound and feel weren't there. The action was riddled with off level sticky keys, a gummy feeling keybed and the tuning and voicing was quite off kilter. Playing this instrument prior to restoration was a chore! It was the perfect candidate for a complete overhaul and a mild restoration.

Hammond RT-3 Project Part 2

What a transformation! After countless hours of rebuilding & fine tuning the end result is a fantastic sounding RT-3 that feels & plays great! The damage was extensive and required a great deal of work to bring it back to life again. We replaced the manuals, buss bars and rebuilt all of the internal electronics, installed quite a few Trek II mods, all the electronic parts were cleaned, lubed & regulated to spec, followed by an extensive cosmetic clean up & polishing of the furniture. All the keys, switches and plastic surfaces were cleaned and polished as well. Overall it was a Night & D

We started with a comprehensive cleaning and regulation of the instrument. By now you are probably wondering what you mean by regulation? Your typical restoration starts with mechanical functions, felts, action associated parts, replacement of parts & rebuilding electronics.

We have here a 1960's Hammond RT-3 Organ in for a functional restoration. At the moment the organ is a total mess, there are dead notes, faulty mechanical issues and overall this RT-3 is in pretty bad shape. You can hear that there are tones missing and even its idle running sound is pretty bad. Stay tuned as we do our small series of videos showing the progress of our work on this RT-3.

Wurlitzer 200a Project

Folks, nothing beats the real thing, and this 200a is a reminder of that! A restored Wurlitzer 200a puts out a warm and full soundstage that sends you back to the good old days of pre-digital analog bliss. This Wurly 200a came into the shop in pretty bad shape. Internally it was all original and it was a total basket case.
